According to the Chinese calendar, 2012 is the year of Black Dragon. Dragon Card is a New Year greeting form Graphic Design Studio to its clients, partners and friends. It is a wish to be courageous in ones decisions and strong in overcoming obstacles. To tame a dragon is to achieve success. The creator, by Yurko Gutsulyak says ”It s important to feel the design not only by seeing it, but also by touching.” The Studio is the first Ukrainian gold winner of one of the most prestigious advertising festival Epica Awards (France), as well as one of the top three creative leaders of advertising market of Ukraine. We are loving the tactile expression of his work, click here to check out his website.

Brand identity for Montreux Jazz Café

Schaffter Sahli is a graphic design studio based in Geneva. They created the overall brand identity and art direction for the first Montreux Jazz Café located at the Geneva International Airport. The identity is based on a very elementary graphic: the dots, which reference the foundation of music, notes. A simple concept beautifully executed across all print material and collateral.

Creative Morning with Milton Glaser

Graphic designer living legend Milton Glaser well known for his I Love NY graphic and all of his classics, has more great recent work which has kept Glaser’s trademark timeless elegance to it.

For those unfamiliar with the studio, click here to download ’A Short Visual History’, an overview of Milton Glaser’s work from the last two decades. Those you know and love him already, have a look at these evocative wine bottles he designed last July to congratulate the renowned restaurant “Les 7 Portes” in Barcelona (of which he is a regular client and nearly family). His statement ‘Less is not necessarily more’ is backed by the four designs for the wines labels which combine a pop aesthetic with that of classic paintings, Japanese prints, Italian primitives, and historical avant-gardes: Beautiful!

Discover Starbucks New Look

A sneak peak from The Dieline Forum in San Francisco (3-4th November)  as Starbucks Global Creative Studio in Seattle talked about some of the big changes that will be reflected on the brand soon. It’s going to be a global rollout of this line incorporating the new illustration style and other brand elements.

For a taste of the new Starbucks Experience and a glimpse into a faraway land, here are some images of the new Packaging for ‘Starbucks Discoveries®’, the chilled cup coffees line currently available only in Japan, South Korea and the UK.
